Anne,

I am glad you were able to solve your issue.

When GenomeBrowse is computing the coverage file it does so in the same folder location as the BAM file. If the user does not have write permissions to that folder then you will receive the reported error "Unable to create the precomputed coverage file".

The fix, as you found out, is to move the BAM file to a folder where you had the correct permissions.

Please let us know if you have any further issues or questions about GenomeBrowse.

Thanks, Jami...

Dear Jami,

I have now solved the problem! The problem was, that the computer could not create the BAI and covid files - but now they do so in a new folder - and now it works. Thanks for your help anyway. Best regards, Anne

Dear Jami

Thank you very much for your quick reply. When I hover the mouse it says: "an error code 1 occured during background computation. Unable to create the precomputed coverage file." and then the name of the file.

Looking forward to heraring from you again.

Best regards, Anne

Dear Anne,

I am sorry that you are having trouble with GenomeBrowse.

To be able to identify what is happening with your BAM file we will need to know what type of error occurred during computation.

If you hover your mouse over the red triangle that appears in the plot area, an error code will be given which can help us diagnose the issue.

Please provide us with any further error information reported by GenomeBrowse so we can determine how to best assist you.

Thanks, Jami...
