GenomeBrowse 2.0 has been released! You can download the most recent installer from our website.

Included in the new version is the ability to stream BAM files from HTTP and FTP, just click the URL button in the Add dialog. You can find full details in our new GenomeBrowse manual.

Hi Jo,

This feature is almost finished and is due to be included with the GenomeBrowse 2.0 release which is scheduled for the beginning of April.

We are planning to support remote file (BAM or VCF) loading from both FTP and HTTP protocols, though due to scheduling not all file types or protocols may make it into the initial release.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, I apologize for not answering you sooner.

Thanks, Jami...

This is the only feature that prevents me from using GenomeBrowse right now. Please hurry up :-)

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your question! We are currently working on implementing that exact feature in GenomeBrowse and it will be included in the next update release. The next update is scheduled to be released by the end of next month.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Jami...
